In response to your request about Las Vegas and some of the western areas of the USA: I visited Las Vegas in l969! I made a cross-country trip at that time and saw many of the national monuments and parks, not limited to the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, and some others that I forget now. It was a long time ago. I have been to California on numerous occasions and would greatly recommend San Fransisco and San Jose.
L.A. has a Haitian restaurant-- Ti Georges' chicken on the 101 Freeway going towards the Stapples arena, but LA doesn't get it for me.
I visited Haiti in l979, Japan in l979, Indonesia (1972) and many other countries.
I hear it has become much more HOLLY-WOOdED and I am not a gambling fan, nor a SMOKING or DRINKING fan. Ca ne m'intersse de tout.
Since I grew up in NYC, I hate visiting places-- like Caracas, and Bogata where CROWDS are the rule.
I prefer to visit, natural scenery including quieter places like Cartegena,(Colombia) Barabados, Rep.Dom. and I would like to go to Costa Rica, which I hear has a sizeable Haitian population-- of more established, successful and educated people.
I liked (1975?) Guadalupe and Martinique.
I would like to go to St. Maarten.
I have been to so many places, but my next trip that I will select will be Alaska.
At present, I am scheduled to go to Maine in May, and Seattle in July; also Atlanta in August.
I will probably get to Montreal again soon as well.
